NO! I cannot find such an option. This is a HUGE problem for my 87-yr-old mother. I wish I saw this comment before we bought it. I *specifically* bought this New "Lively FLIP" cell phone (formerly called Jitterbug) assuming one would be connected to the caller when the flip top was opened. But no--- she has to 1) first flip open the cover AND then 2) find the "OK" button AND then 3) press the "OK" button (a non-descript button buried in the third row). She has a hard time with this. They could have at least made the "OK" button larger and/or Green. WTH! As such, she's unable to answer calls. NOT GOOD - as I now have to leave work & drive to her house to make sure she is ok (she had a bad fall last month). With her previous flip phone there was an immediate connection once the top was flipped open. The inability to EASILY answer a phone call is a major deal breaker for me. This phone is going back- such a huge waste of my time & money. This is NOT an "easy-to-use" cell phone for the elderly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A new software update allows “open to answer” and “speed dial numbers”. Call customer service.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no option on this phone to simply open it to answer a call, which is a huge drawback. It shows the caller info on the cover but you have to open the phone, choose answer or ignore, then hit OK. This is ridiculous and overly complicated on a phone made for seniors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Lively flip is not what it's advertised to be . . . . not easy to use for seniors. Too complicated to use. Buy something else. I'm sorry I got one and it doesn't function properly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, does not connect call when flipped open. This is the most stupid thing ever. I agree, if I had known this I would not have bought this phone for my 92 year old uncle. And to think they are pushing this phone to elderly people.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is an option to answer a call just by flipping it open. Go to SETTINGS, then ACCESSIBILITY, next arrow down to "Answer on flip open" and make sure the ON is highlighted, then click OK.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to push a button when the phone is opened. I've not found another way. Nice phone!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I called customer service about this and pushed a firmware update to both phones that added flip open to answer in the accessibility menu, but it doesn't work! I tried rebooting the phone, doing a factory reset...the option is in there but if it's on, you STILL have to push OK same as if it's off. What the heck? Who designed this phone? I think moving my elderly family members to Lively was a mistake.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately, it depends totally on the model. Purchased the phone 9/26/21, packed with a USER Guide that is for a NEWER model phone (why put a new guide in with an old phone that does not have the capability or even the options they instruct you to use - False advertisement. The user must flip the cover open and locate the OK button and press it to answer the call - AND even worse - you can not access a speed dial - this model needs to be updated with the 9/14/21 release - which you can be placed on a waiting list and hopefully, according to their reps, should be available in a week. The 24/7 access to customer service reps is great, but it would be better to have a phone that disabled seniors could use - as it is touted as the easiest phone for seniors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it doesn’t which has been a problem because my 90 year mother had the original Jitterbug flip that did answer a call on open that she was very used to using. However, she broke her phone so I had to replace it with the Jitterbug Flip 2 which does not flip to answer. This has been a struggle. Supposedly there will be a software update in December 2021 that will enable the flip to answer feature.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
