Customers are enthusiastic about the Jitterbug Flip2's ease of use, size, and reasonable price, frequently citing the large buttons and easy-to-read display as key advantages. However, some users expressed concerns regarding battery life and the volume, while others noted limitations with texting and speed dial capabilities. The emergency button was also a frequently praised feature. Reception quality proved inconsistent for some customers.

My stepdad was struggling with smartphone I got him (his flip phone would no longer work with 4G) where he had to swipe. This Jitterbug is perfect. Answers the phone just by opening. Simple list with phone, contacts, voicemail (I created message for him) and date and time showing when closed. Nice charging station and Best Buy sent me a free car charger in the mail.
There is also a great feature by pressing “0” to get a personal operator who can get you a Lyft ride. They ask where you are, where you are going and let you know if a driver is available and the estimated cost. You can accept or reject the ride. Call is $1 and charged to your bill with the cost of the ride. This will definitely be used for doctor appointments when we can’t give him or my mom a ride. He loves it! I recommend it!

After purchasing this phone for my husband who is in a long-term care facility, I found out out that monthly fees from the state are almost the price of a month’s usage fee. If you live on a fixed income and every penny counts, make sure to explore all fees levied by your state before activating.

Bought this phone for my grandpa, and I absolutely love it! The phone has big button letters built for seniors who have a hard time seeing. A great volume/ringtone setting for seniors that are hard of hearing, and it is easy maneuvering apps throughout the phone as well. This is a really good option for seniors who are not really tech savvy, but need a way to communicate with their family or who live alone and need telephone access to outside agencies. Also lively customer service is really good as well. A great option all the way around

Cool little flip phone, I like using the radio with wire ear buds.
Bluetooth works good in the car also, much better than the first one I had called the jitterbug.
I use it as a spare line, it's easier to use also.

The Jitterbug Flip2 Cell Phone was an excellent choice for my father. It is his first mobile phone and he is delighted. It was easy to set up all his contacts and numbers so he can easily see who to call, and see who is calling him. Thank you Jitterbug.

My parent's wanted a flip phone, not a smart phone. They are familiar with flip phones and they wanted a low monthly phone bill. They are very happy with their service and their bill. The phones are durable with a larger print for easynuse for them.

Quick, polite service when I picked up the phone. Phone seems great but we haven't used it yet. I'm guessing the large number buttons and simple use will be great for my father-in-law.

Ringer stopped working. Keeps falling into airplane mode and there is no airplane mode so you have to call customer service to reboot the phone and lose all your contacts in the process. Do not recommend.

Works great. Great phone if you just need something basic and inexpensive. The Lilely emergency button gives you piece of mind if you have an emergency.

I'm going to be a little more critical than most here, due to my moms age.
The idea of a large button flip phone really appealed to me because mom just wouldn't be able to handle a smart phone regardless of how easy it was to use. Let me add that my mother has also never sat in front of a PC, so a TV remote is just about as high-tech she gets.
The goal was simple, give my 91 year old mom the ability to easily receive calls and make them without getting herself into trouble. While it's easy to answer the Jitterbug by simply flipping open the cover, dialing out is another matter.
The phone does have a list of menu options when the lid is opened, and the list was strike one. Initially, there is a list of about six menu items (Photos, Help Tools, Device Info, Games, Setup) that are accessed by the up/down key, all of which are not necessary and add an incredible level of complexity for somebody looking for simplicity. The good news is that through the settings, the menu options can all be hidden, with the exception of Contacts and Phone. So far so good, I mean, how much trouble can mom get with two menu items? Read on.
I was successful in setting up speed dialing for her most common numbers, which are setup in Contacts, and she can handle the pressing of the appropriate number button to make her calls. The problem comes when she wants to manually dial to call a number that isn't stored. In order to dial out manually, the menu item must be highlighted on the "Phone" option and any attempt to manually dial when "Contacts" is highlighted results in an error. Many times my mom fumbles with the buttons and inadvertently changes the option to "Contracts", thus locking her out of manually dialing. She's too confused to realize this and won't press the up/down arrow to highlight "Phone". This is a major flaw in the design. The phone should allow you to dial out regardless of which menu option is highlighted. To make matters worse, if the lid is closed and opened again, the previously highlighted menu option is still active. It would be nice if opening it again would reset it to "Phone".
Another issue which I was able to combat was the volume buttons. Like all phones, if you press the volume button when it is ringing, it will silence the ringer. On the Jitterbug it silences the ringer permanently, forcing you to go back into the settings to change the ringer option. And guess what, when my moms phone rings, she fumbles around her purse for it and inadvertently presses the volume button - every time. Thankfully, there is a setting to disable the volume button, and that has worked like a charm.
For those of you who are purchasing the Jitterbug for an elderly parent who isn't tech savvy, just be forewarned that even though it appears to be simple, to the elderly it can still be quite complicated.

I like the most to be able to call the Operator and they will arrange for a ride with Lyft, I don't have to have the App. I miss being able to forward texts, but it's very easy to navigate. The User Guide isn't always helpful, you have to call them for clarification but the agents have been all very kind and patient and walked me through different processes. I love that to hang up you just close it, no frenetic finger up & down the screen. It's my main phone, small, fits in my pouch and I feel connected wherever I go. I have a second cell that I keep at home with a couple of apps that I favor, but it's too bulky to carry around comfortably.

My Mom has been a flip phone user her entire life and was devastated when the 3G deactivation occurred. Since then, her physical and cognitive health has declined.
I've tried every brand of basic flip phone and both smartphone operating systems. I thought for sure that the lively flip phone would work for her.
The phone's main menu is customizable and looks pretty simple. The keys are large and backlit. Screen size is excellent and resolution is ok.
My mom's primary issue with the phone is that she tries touching the screen instead of using the keys. I already know what you're thinking... I should get her a smartphone.
I agree. This is the only issue I have with Lively. They market their products specifically for seniors and the "not-so-tech-savy," but, they aren't willing to do any type of swap or trade-in for their smartphone version.
So, I do recommend the phones they currently sell. Make sure to not only pick the best model for you or your loved one's preference, but be sure of the return policies. Lively isn't very philanthropic when it comes to providing the best for its customers' needs.
