Hello Cathy, the Lively Flip phone does have the text feature available and you can chose from a variety of text packages.

Yes you can text on the Lively Flip phone. However, it is cumbersome, old style texting since you have to cycle through the number buttons to select the letters (i.e. the 2 button is for a,b, and c, then the 3 button is for letters d, e, and f). If you want to text much, a smartphone would be a better choice.

Yes you can text with this phone. Since it has bigger buttons, it makes it easier to text.

Yes, but you will get texts from people you do not know including people advertising webcam sex. Just a heads up.
