Hi Ruth. Suggest calling the Jitterbug people directly. Their customer service was knowledgeable and very helpful asking my initial questions (Jitterbug 2 does not work with Mobile Spectrum). Regardless of this fact, I chose to purchase the Jitterbug 2 for my 86 year old mother and had her number transferred to Great Call which only took minutes. Great Call was not only cheaper than Mobile Spectrum but provides the ideal services for our family who is trying “to keep tabs” on a physically active 86 year old who isn’t the best communicator, not tech savvy, and is forgetful. The phone is ideal in its simplicity and features e.g. notifications when “she’s on the move”; her location, phone battery at critically low level, etc. Also and perhaps most importantly is the 5 Star feature. I added her doctor and emergency contacts so that in the event my mother has any issues, she can call 5 Star and get the assistance she needs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m pretty certain you can only use Great Call. While their customer service was helpful, the quality of the sound during calls was terrible (at least in our area - Central Ohio). Sadly, I’m now looking to resell the phones.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Ruth, all Jitterbug cell phones and smartphones are unlocked per nationwide standards, but we cannot control which carriers choose to accept or activate our phones, nor do we guarantee our phones are compatible with other networks.
