• Great question! We advice you avoid taking the back cover off to avoid confusion, however you would be able to place the SD card on the back of the phone once you remove the back cover.

• Well, it says that it is on the left side by the Google Assistant button. BUT mine, is on the BOTTOM on each side of the charging port. Weird. Must have changed. I bought mine at Best Buy about a week ago.
