• You can put each speaker to each side of the monitor and the bass speaker on the floor, under the desktop. That's the best way to put them.

• yes, these speakers can be put on their side to fit in an area. i use them standing on their base on the floor (for the subwoofer) and desktop (for the satellite speakers).

• Yes I sometime lay one or both on their side to fit under my dual monitors so the sound is right in front of me.
