Are these compatible with the Rift S? null

Yes, I've used them on my Rift S with no problems.

These headphones don't appear to have any audio enhancement qualities that are specific to the Quest2 other than the manner in which the cable length is cut specifically such that it reaches the audio jack on the left side of the Quest2 and the right earpiece length is just long enough that you can snake the cord around the top so that it just reaches your right ear. Wearing them does make for a better audio experience but it's really more about having less cord tangle to deal with than anything else.
