No, the weights are nicely hidden inside the mouse, where they aren't scratched.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not hardcore game. But I have had this mouse for a couple of months now. Still looks new to me. No unusual wear marks underneath. The weights won't "scratch off" as they are inside the mouse and are made of metal. I guess if your mouse pad is 40 grit sandpaper, they may scratch slightly. But, your skin would probably scratch as well.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the weights are stored inside the mouse (a cover opens up) as for the surface material, i use a soft mousepad and never see any marks on the bottom.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well the weights are magnetic and are held in place with a magnetic cover. If you are using a mouse pad that should not be a concern. But I haven't used it for long so not sure how is the long term durability.
