• For me, yes they are. Plus the low dpi button for precision movements under them.

• Yes, the buttons are used to change your DPI so if your needing it lower for one game and higher for another its a quick and easy way to change it. The Logitech G Hub also lets you set whatever DPI you'd like on your 4 levels/profiles.
