“How far can the clamps tighten? I have a very thin glass desk that is less than a centimeter thick. Would it tighten good? Or do I have to place a book or block under the clamp as well?”

Please try again later.The clamps will tighten to any surface, mine is bolted to a racing chance setup but the front clamps are still clamped down on the plate and its pretty thin. Though if your glass top is that thin I would suggest a thin book just to prevent any stress points. Hope that helps
