Mine controls 8 devices. From reading literature, I think it used to control 5 devices with the same model number, but was upgraded to control 8 devices. There are four dedicated buttons above the screen, then the screen itself displays the names of the remaining devices and you control them by selecting the buttons on either side of the screen.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Logitech Harmony 650 was originally designed to control 5 devices, however, a recent update increased this limit to 8 devices. When you buy this remote and set it up on the computer like you need to, it will automatically update if it has not been updated already. The model number of the one I have (which I recommended) is 915-000114

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works 8 devices - I have 3 TV's, 2 Dish hoppers, 1 Dish Joey, 1 Yamaha receiver and 1 Toshiba DVD player connected and I can control them all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We really don't like this Universal remote. We have four devices hooked to it but most of the time we can't get our television to turn on. The blue ray player always turns on and opens and closes, but we aren't planning to use it when it does that. The television will turn on and the cable box turns off and that goes on and on so our television is either on or we get static. There are buttons that we have no idea what they do. There are colored buttons that are suppose to match ones on our old Comcast cable control but it has no colored buttons. We didn't get a book with our remote so we have nothing to check. We usually use the regular remotes,
