Yes. It uses Bluetooth with the PS3 which it will ask you to pair it as you add the PS3 to the remote.

It took me a little while for it to work, but the trick that I found out was that if you look at the bottom of your PS3 when you're setting it up, use that PART NUMBER not just saying PS3 on the set up. this will have the remote set up properly. You also have to do some setting up with your actual PS3, but that is pretty straight forward process
