Wireless is needed if using Smartphone. I believe remote uses IR signal to communicate with the hub. The Hub is actually the part that controls all the electronics with remotes controlling Hub.

Yes, the IR sensor is included and I use it with my home WiFi. I have not tried Bluetooth.

Set up and operations for the phone app is though wifi. You can also setup using a Windows or Mac computer and supplied usb cable (I used phone app). The included remote uses RF to communicate with the HUB then the HUB uses IR and Bluetooth to control the devices accordingly.

Wireless (Wi-Fi) is required for the remote (or your Smartphone/tablet) to talk to the hub. An IR sensor is included in the package if your components are not all within range of the hub.

From what I know, the remote sends a signal to the hub and the hub then sends out the proper IR and/or bluetooth signal to control the devices you are trying to operate. if you are using the app on your phone/tablet, you will need a to have the hub and phone/tablet connected to the same wifi for it to work. The package includes a remote, the main hub, and a mini IR blaster that can be connected to the main hub

If you are using the app which allows smartphones/tablets to be used as remotes, then you need wifi. The remote that is included uses RF, but the hub will send IR signals with the extender cable, so should be compatible with IR devices. Don't think it uses Bluetooth in any way.

It can control devices via Bluetooth (such as a PS3) but wireless internet is required. The hub has wifi, Bluetooth, built in ir blaster, and 2 ports for additional ir blasters. 1 ir blaster is included in the box. A smartphone (iPhone or android) is required for setup.

A wireless router is needed for the setup and operation of this unit. The backup remote appears to run off of an RF signal, but you need to be connected to WiFi to use the app. The IR blaster is included with an extension, and it works great.

Ir blaster was included. Also unit Communicates perfectly with ps3 & 4 which are both blue tooth.

The hub controls both Bluetooth and IR. Check the website and make sure your device is compatible. An IR blaster is included. There is a port for a (seperately purchased) IR blaster.
