The remote comes with a hub and 2 mini IR blasters. One purpose for the mini blasters is to receive RF signals and transmit that signal to equipment that may be tucked away in a cabinet.

Behind closed doors is no problem. This unit comes with an IR blaster that receives commands directly from the hub. It's about the size of a quarter and you just place it your cabinet with your components.

Yes. All three of my devices are in a closed cabinet and they operate great. I do use the mini blaster (included) for only one device and that is the cable box. But it operates all devices without having to open any of the cabinets.

Sounds similar to my setup. I have the main unit by the tv and the blaster inside the cabinet with the other devices. Works great, no issues.

Logitech supplies a plug in, remote infrared blaster that you can place inside your cabinet that should solve your problem.
I don't use it, but if it's anything like the hub's infrared blasters, it should have no problem sending infrared signals to all your components inside your cabinet.

It should. All of my components are behind glass, and I keep the hub behind the same glass and it's fine. There's an IR blaster that we use for the TV, which the hub probably couldn't reach while behind the glass.

The hub uses infrared for control. I believe if you have wifi enabled components that are compatible with Harmony you can control them through the app or through one of the more robust remotes. But for the hub to control a cable box or dvd player for instance it will need to be able to target them with infrared. They say if all the devices are in the same cabinet it should work. I would attempt it and if you have trouble try repositioning the hub, it's rather small, until you find the sweet spot. If it doesn't work then return it to Best Buy and inquire about another solution.

yes, as long as there aren't too many obstacles to overcome. rf xmitter should be on or near level of other components
