• I'm no expert but even without using the remote it is going to use power thus eventually depleting the batteries so I would suggest leaving the remote on the charging station when not in use. Hope this helps

• Yes, it has re-chargeable battery that must be re-charged on the cradle. The battery life is several hours if it has been charging on the cradle.

• This is not normal. I would exchange it or contact Logitech for the warranty.
