• its membrane,. mechanical boards are usually around $100. I have both kinds. I only bought this for my wife due to space constraints. Stick with mechanical.

• It's a mechanical keyboard. Unless all those mechanical looking keys are depressing a membrane beneath them. Which I did not see under the ' "" key.
