Usually in a Logitech wireless mouse it means that the battery is dying. So you might see it respond sometimes but as you move the mouse it flashes on and off. If its solid red this could also be the problem. Eventually with batteries that are dead you will not even get a light at all.

I recommend you buying better batteries. I believe the product below would be the best to replace your bad battery issue.

I included a picture of the original mouse battery to one of my other new Logitech325 Mice.

The flashing red light means it's almost time to change the battery. The mouse has a sleep mode but you can extend the battery life by switching it off, using the slide bar underneath, when you turn your laptop off.

red light should be solid. If not then usb mouse drivers probably not installed correctly or usb drivers for motherboard must be updated would be m guess
