“how do I get the side buttons to work. I think they are for moving your page up or down. Mine does not do anything? Please help me set this up. Otherwise works great. Thanks,Susan”

Those buttons can be programmed using the software that is available. I use mine for zooming.

You'll need to download Logitech's software called Logitech Options on their website, http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/wireless-mouse-m510/downloads#. You'll then be able to customize all of the buttons.

The side buttons on the Mouse M510 are for back and forward buttons for convenient web navigation.

The buttons are actually to navigate from page to page instead of using the back and forward buttons on your computer screen. The front button takes you forward and the back button will take you back to the previous screen. Hope that helps!
