It can be plugged in just fine and used but not as a controller. Just for navigation, typing, and chatting. It's also helpful if you use the web browser. But not for games.

So after unboxing and connecting the unit to the Sony PlayStation 4, The keyboard was able to browse the different apps from the home screen and worked flawlessly for the console's web browser. Its good for quick messaging while you are using the controller. However it does not allow game play. It does navigate Netflix pretty good though? Notice I didn't say anything about the mouse?... i purchased 2 of these for PC's in separate rooms so I checked the other one just to make sure that it wasn't just a defective mouse from the first box. unfortunately The mouse isn't recognized by the PS4 however on Logitech's more higher end combos I've noticed that both the keyboard and the mouse operate seamlessly. I do like the feel of the keyboard and the precision of the mouse is pretty good for a combo at its price. Side note:I wanted to test the "spill resistant" claim because those claims aren't always the truth. (however I dont recommend that you do and you could void your warranty on a product) I just wanted to know that if my kids accidently had a spill would the keyboard still work or would I have to rush for a quick replacement?) After slowly pouring a 20 ounce bottle of water on the keyboard 3 separate times throughout the day and allowing it to air dry. they keyboard worked flawlessly. Amazing.. How did they do that! if you spill something containing sugars or dyes prepare to have to gently remove the keys and perform an almost surgical cleaning because that would mean when the beverage dries your keys will stick. Word of advice keep beverages away unless its water and you'll have a dependable keyboard for quite sometime. The keyboard works pretty good and has good range and operation I actually wrote this review using it on a gaming laptop after it dried...
