I had no issues. Maybe try the receiver in a different USB port

Please try again later.I do not now how or why would you need to turn off the trackpad, you can have both, as long as your do not touch your trackpad it will not bother you, there is no corelation between the mouse not beign recognized by your machine bluetooth and the trackpad.

The mouse won't disable your trackpad it just allows you to use the mouse to navigate instead of the trackpad.
