Hi LPR, you can buy another cable if you would like too, but the mouse and keyboards have amazing battery lives. So you shouldn't have to worry about charging them up very often if you turn them off when you're not using them. Hope that helps! -N from Logitech

As with any cordless electronics like say your cellphone, I wouldn’t keep it plugged in any longer than it takes to change it. Unless you plan on keeping it plugged in forever it will probably affect your battery life. I let mine die every other charge to try keep the battery life good. I’m not a hundred percent sure about this but it’s what I do. As for damaging the battery… not sure on that either because I don’t do that.
