Hello Tredd. The Slim Folio definitely should work with the 8th Gen iPad. Since it is not using Bluetooth, but the smart connector, it will not show up in the devices settings. When opened and the lights on, you should be able to just type and its connected automatically.

While the indicator light is flashing rapidly, indicating that the keyboard is searching for a Bluetooth connection, this device should appear on the list of Bluetooth devices on the iPad display, select it, and you should be good to go. I printed the instructions for a friend in assisted living, but he immediately had me stick those in the box, place the box in the bottom drawer (unreachable and unnoticed next to his bed, which made those instructions hard to remember after several days, when we needed them
