• No: software is included in the package. For regular use you shouldn't need the software. I have a Dell latitude with Windows 10: it recognized the mouse immediately. The software helps set the extra mouse buttons to custom functions.

• Should just be plug-and-play. I've used this mouse on a lot of machines over the years and I've never had a problem.

• Hi EM, yes the Trackman Trackball is compatible with Windows. There is optional software called Logitech SetPoint that you can download and use with the mouse. All of the downloads available for this mouse will be found at support.logi.com
