“I have a Klipsch soundbar that connects to an included powered subwoofer via bluetooth. However that subwoofer is severely lacking. Is there any reason why I couldn't use this adapter to connect to a better powered subwoofer?”

You usually can't connect to two bluetooth devices at the same time so I don't think this would work. If you were somehow able to connect to both devices at the same time and then pray there was not latency between the two.
