It depends. There are MANY scenarios depending on what application you are using. I have an nvidia Shield TV and I connect it to the Z407 via bluetooth. I have google home assistant on the Shield TV. I can control the volume of the speakers via... 1) The Z407 remote 2) The nvidia Shield TV remote 3) My PC (in most instances) 4) The TV connected to the Shield TV (IF I'm watching TV thru ARC) 5) My phone via the google home assistant app 6) Voice command via google home assistant This all because I use google (Android). I assume other environments (Apple for instance) would allow similar results.
