Yes it is a wired system - each speaker is wired to the main box. From the box there is a control unit, power and the input cable from a PC or TV.

The system can be connected to a TV via an optical cable, RCA cables or digital cable. However, to get the Dolby surround to work you will need to make sure your TV support Dolby digital via the optical output (not all TV models have that feature). Otherwise, you will need to connect the optical cable directly to the source such as a blue ray player, xbox or playstation. There are two optical ports on this system so it is not difficult to do multi system setup.
