Q: QuestionCan Lomi be put in a cabinet?
Asked by Grace.
- A:Answer Hello Grace, and thank you for asking! While Lomi can fit inside of many cabinet configurations, it can generate steam. It is recommended that Lomi be used in a place with adequate ventilation. A countertop space is generally ideal for when Lomi is in use.

Q: Questionafter you fill it and push the button how long does it take to make compost? and since its plugged in how much has the average electric bill gone up?
Asked by mistycool25.
- A:Answer My Lomi has 3 cycles. The shorted cycle is about 5 hours, and the longest one makes the best compost in about 20 hours (I run it from the evening after dinner until morning), I mostly run the long cycle and my electricity bill is up $4.00/month, which is hard to say was definitely from my Lomi...

Q: QuestionDoes the Lomi Composter use charcoal filters? If so, how often do they need to be replaced?
Asked by Benji.
- A:Answer It's actually loose charcoal pieces and they say they need to be replaced every 3-6 months depending on the useage. They don't say how we'll know when it's time but I suspect it will start to smell like a landfill when it's running, which will be our clue.

Q: QuestionWith the amount of electricity used to dehydrate the scraps, how in the world does this thing reduce the carbon footprint of the user?
Asked by ConcernedComposter.
- A:Answer Lomi actually does not use that much electricity less than you might think, around 1 KwH per cycle. The offsets are still great with their manufacturing practices and you are still composting, not letting it go to a landfill which is worse. You can find more info on their website about it too.
