A:AnswerHello Grace, and thank you for asking!
While Lomi can fit inside of many cabinet configurations, it can generate steam. It is recommended that Lomi be used in a place with adequate ventilation. A countertop space is generally ideal for when Lomi is in use.
A:AnswerMy Lomi has 3 cycles. The shorted cycle is about 5 hours, and the longest one makes the best compost in about 20 hours (I run it from the evening after dinner until morning), I mostly run the long cycle and my electricity bill is up $4.00/month, which is hard to say was definitely from my Lomi...
A:AnswerIt's actually loose charcoal pieces and they say they need to be replaced every 3-6 months depending on the useage. They don't say how we'll know when it's time but I suspect it will start to smell like a landfill when it's running, which will be our clue.
A:AnswerLomi actually does not use that much electricity less than you might think, around 1 KwH per cycle. The offsets are still great with their manufacturing practices and you are still composting, not letting it go to a landfill which is worse. You can find more info on their website about it too.
