• Yes. The light NEVER has to be on for the camera to work. You can also program an on/off schedule.

• Yes, the LED light is independent and can be controlled via Lorex app. From the app, it can be activated manually, set to turn on and off on schedule, set to activate on motion detection or set to vacation mode.
