- Answer The lights are motion activated if you set it up that way. You can also use the phone app to manually activate the lights and the audible siren for each camera.

- Answer Lorex has a 6GB HD that can be purchased. You can call Lorex at 1-888-425-6739 and give them your DVR model number and they will tell you the max capacity your specific DVR can handle.

- Answer You can attach an external HDD. You can also subscribe to Lorex cloud service and have all your data online. If your DVR gets stolen you may still access the videos online.

- Answer Yes they should work fine with the siamese rg59 cables. I would just watch your distance because your signal will become weaker the further you push it.

QuestionHow many MP are these cameras? And can you turn lights and sirens off?

- Answer The picture is very clear. The lights and siren can be turned off and on but the light is not very bright and the siren is not very loud. You can manually turn the lights and siren on from the mobile app. You can hear the siren when outside but not in the house. Very happy with the system and extremely easy to use. Pictures and mobile app is a bonus.

QuestionWill this DVR allow me to configure it so I can connect directly to it (to view live cameras) via an external IP address, rather than connecting via the QR code to the cloud hosted app? Is there an android app for this purpose? Thanks!

- Answer Yes, you can setup an external IP address to view the footage. You can also setup a free account with Lorex and they will give you a url to visit to view your footage. The free version is for a couple days. The subscription levels can get you months of cloud storage. You can use either the iPhone app or android app. I like this app since I can setup live notifications when motion is detected.

- Answer Yes it can be used, but you will only be able to view the cameras from the monitor it is connected to via the hdmi cable from the dvr to your monitor.

QuestionJust purchased a 4K 4 camera system, I have an Android smart phone that I will be downloading the Lorex app on. Do I need a monitor?? Or can I use my computer desk top or nothing but the smart phone?

QuestionWill Best Buy install the system and will it work with existing cameras?

- Answer Not sure if Best Buy will install, but you could certainly give them a call. As far as working with existing cameras, I was able to swap out my Swann DVR with this one and still use the old Swann cameras with it. As long as your cameras have a BNC-type connector, you should be okay.

QuestionDo these cameras have PIRs built in? Otherwise, how does it differentiate between a human walking by the camera vs a junebug? I'd hate to have the siren go off every time a bug flies by, or if it rains, or if it's windy.
