Hi Trustbutverify, Yes, no PoE. This is the latest 4K system using coax cabling and Analog HD cameras. An important thing to note is that 4K analog HD cameras are more sensitive to cable grade and therefore require RG59 grade cabling and will not work optimally (you will still get video) with cable extensions so single cable runs are required for proper 4K video transmission. Power requirement for the cameras is also slightly higher than for non-4K analog HD cameras and separate grounding is required. All the proper accessories including cabling and power adapter are included in this bundle and other extension cable options are available. If you are simply looking to swap out the cameras and the recorder and leaving the cabling you have pre-installed in place, I would make sure that the cabling meets the requirements mentioned above. If you want to add the 720p cameras you have to open channels on the recorder you can do so as this recorder will accept CVI/TVI/AHD analog HD cameras below 4K resolution. I hope this answers your question. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact us at 1.888.425.6739 The Lorex Customer Service Team
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it uses BNC connectors so your old cameras should work. However, if you try to use the older cable with the new 4K cameras you'll likely have a very degraded picture if it works at all. I tried it with mine and I could see part of the image, but the bottom half was messed up. When I ran the new cable that came with the 4K camera system, the picture worked perfectly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO, you cannot just "order cameras and swap out". 4K video requires a different compression format, and I'd highly doubt (as in, I'm 99.9% certain) your old DVR has the compression codex within its firmware/OS.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It uses the same BNC connections, but you will need the DVR unit to decipher the h264.h compression. You may be able to use the cameras with a different compression, but you won't be able to utilize the deterrent features and that may defeat the purpose and added cost of these cameras.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It uses a Siamese cable with the standard bnc connections. Swapping cameras is unlikely to work. The cameras are still analog but use a newer MPX protocol which requires a support DVR and cables. Also, certain features of the camera, such as the light and siren, only work on compatible DVRs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
