You could but that would be a really bad idea considering how slow they are. A better idea would be the get a external SSD, if you want something small, and plug it into one of the ports. Much faster speeds and still compact and not requiring external power.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Personally, I bought a 1TB m.2 SSD and an encasement for it so that I am able to plug my SSD into one of the lighting ports. This way is cheaper than purchasing additional storage when ordering and is an ideal way to add storage later on.
