That is always going to be an issue and this question will always send shivers down a tech's spine. Fax = analog signal. VOIP = digital signal. other VOIP = different digital signal. As you send you analog fax to your VOIP, it gets converted. It then goes to the receivers office and their VoIP may need to convert the digital into different digital. Then that VOIP will have to convert the signal back to analog for the receiving fax. Lots of "moving" parts. It always has the possibility to work as well as not work. If you can ditch fax for another "secure" option, save yourself.
