QuestionMJ loads just fine . I can hear my voice mail through the speaker on the computer and I can receive or make a call, but they have trouble hearing me I ear them just fine. Is it a setting. no dial tone on phone.

- Answer Yes, you can. Take the MagicJack with you wherever you go. Just use an Ethernet cable to connect to the internet and you are good to go. Hope you have a good trip and still are able to stay connect with your loved ones at home. You will also need an adapter to plug Magic jack into an international outlets and also make sure it is the right voltage for the magic jack.

- Answer To function, a MajicJack requires Internet service and electric service. It is a Voice over Internet Protocol device. The MagicJack packaging includes a small electronic device, one end of which is connected via an Ethernet cable to the homeowner's Internet router. The other end of the small electronic device is connected via a telephone cable to a telephone or in-home telephone system. Our MajicJack unit's telephone cable is plugged into the base unit of our Panasonic home phone system which also has two remotes. Installation is easy. In effect, the MajicJack device converts the Internet signal to a telephone signal, so that ordinary land-line telephones can work with the MajicJack. After installation has been completed, MajicJack provides the choice of either a new telephone number or the porting over of an existing number for the new MajicJack line,

- Answer That is always going to be an issue and this question will always send shivers down a tech's spine. Fax = analog signal. VOIP = digital signal. other VOIP = different digital signal. As you send you analog fax to your VOIP, it gets converted. It then goes to the receivers office and their VoIP may need to convert the digital into different digital. Then that VOIP will have to convert the signal back to analog for the receiving fax. Lots of "moving" parts. It always has the possibility to work as well as not work. If you can ditch fax for another "secure" option, save yourself.

- Answer Maybe yes and maybe no. That is an honest answer to any fax over any phone system. I hate this question. The best I can tell you is to try it. The fax will send an analog signal to the MagicJack which converts it to digital and sends it over the internet. The receiving end will receive a digital copy of the fax and may have to convert that digital signal to another kind of digital signal. Then that phone system will convert the signal back to analog for the receiving fax. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

- Answer Not that I am aware. It's just a simple VoIP converter of any signal sent to it. I think that the 1-key dialing is on your phone. When you press that speed-dial, all digits are automatically sent on your behalf. MagicJack sends the entire phone number because it was given the entire phone number. Nothing to block.

- Answer No, you don't need a landline. You will get a number from Magic Jack (in an area code of your choosing). We ported our old "land line" number to the Magic Jack (for an additional fee) and it has been working great. You will need an internet connection, of course.

- Answer Not an Expert... Can only give info I know. That said, I had to replace our 2009 version, (sound quality was horrible, unit was not working 100%) In short, I had no issues with this unit, and my Laptop! In my case, I have Win10 Insider, running lastest build (April'20).
