I just recently bought a gimbal to use with my d500 with my 200 to 400 zoom lens, and my gimbal has a quarter inch mounting thread on the bottom that attach to easily to the tripod. But you have to check because not all the quick release plates are interchangeable with most products, most all quick-release plates have the quarter inch Threaded Screw that attaches to most any camera on the market, but some of those plates will not Mount to other products. My gimbal came with 1 quick release plate so I bought a couple more quick-release plates and I can mount on other cameras too easily switch from one camera to the other on the gimbal. Most all mounting plates I have a quarter inch thread that screws into the bottom of almost every single brand of camera. So you may need to buy a few mounting plates that are dedicated to your gimbal like I did.
