“Does this Tripod work with/hold steady with an Nikon D3400 with lens attached? I purchased a tripod a couple years ago that said it was compatible however it does not hold the weight with the lens attached which made my camera continuously fall and break.”

With smaller lens it is great. Not so much with a large zoom lens. It will have a tendency to break loose from its grip.

The largest lens I could use on this tripod was a Nikon 70-200 DX, I had to hold it in place to lock the camera in position. No issues at all with a Nikkor, Tameron, or Sigma 35mm, 50mm, or a 18-55mm lens.
