“If I connect my 4k Bluray player to the Marantz 8805 and do a “Pass Through” to the 4k TV, will the picture on TV be as good if the Bluray player Video was connected directly to the TV? Is there a slight degradation of the picture if sent thru Marantz?”

Yes, the signal will remain flawless. The 8805 is my favorite component in my entire system. I have all of my video sources connected to it, including an Oppo Ultra HD player. I have it set up to display on either a 65 in. or for movie night, an Epson 4K projector. The image is flawless.

Please try again later.My Friend It suppose to be better if you run it through the processor unfortunately this processor is way over rated. neither video nor audio qualities are good. I noticed video quality was poor too when was connected to Marantz rather than directly to TV If it is not too late return this piece of junk and do yourself a favor buy an Onkyo PR-RZ5100 and ten you will know what I'm talking about. you will save about $3000 and will never go back to Marantz. Best Buy is promoting Marantz since there is more commission earned otherwise they know is junk.
