Mine runs somewhat hot but no much different than than the Pioneer I had previously. It needs forced cooling because it’s in my entertainment cabinet. I placed an AC infinity cooling plate on top.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Rob, all receivers can run a bit warm (not hot) as they have quite a bit of responsibility these days. Providing the receiver with adequate breathing space, heat can be controlled. Six inches of clearance above the unit is recommended.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm running all 9 amps And mine doesn't run hot. I keep it out in the open and well ventilated with nothing on top of it. I can put my hand on it and though I'll feel warmth, it doesn't feel hot. And it's on most of the day. Glad to say if you are considering this ABR, the quality and performance is unmatched from anything else i've seen or heard.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My unit is in an open cabinet but only has 2-3" of clearance above it. I put a temp sensor above it and it was getting over 85 degrees which is the hottest you want to avoid long term damage to the components. I did what another answer mentions...put an AC Infinity fan on top which blows out the back. Even at a low fan setting (2 out of 6) the temp is now a steady 77 degrees.
