Hello, the Marantz Cinema 60 surround back channels are assignable and can be assigned for Atmos or Surround back. A 5.1.2 speaker system is possible with the Cinema 60 receiver.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I split my front two speakers and have my center speaker plus I have, I do have back speakers but have them connected to the surround! Plus I have my sub woofer! It does get a little confusing when you set it up! My front speaker tops are connected to the front and the front lower are connected to the rear! It all gets figured out when you do the set up! Like I say it’s a little confusing! I went through the set up a couple times to make sure it was right! The sound is amazing! You will be fine with the C60! You will love it! Just take your time and read everything while setting it up and the back surround can be used for other than back surround!
