Hello Morsecode. The NR1510's pre-outs have RCA terminals and are active all the time, with or without speakers connected to their corresponding channel speaker ports. Connected digital sources are decoded to analog and fed to the pre-outs as well as the speaker ports. In short - the answer to all three of your questions is yes.
