• A:Answer Basically, a receiver is the term used to describe a stereo amplifier with a radio in it. With a 'surround sound' receiver, you plug in your TV (any size) and the sound comes out of your 5 speakers (two front, a center front, two back speakers and a subwoofer) for surround sound. You also run your DVD player and CD player through it to watch a movie or listen to music. The 'receiver' part means it has an AM/FM radio and "receives" radio signals. Read the description to see various other features.

HEOS can be used to stream from a hard drive once the HEOS app and hard drive have been configured in the network. USB can also be used. • A:Answer Hello, Yes - the front left and right pre-outs become active the moment you connect an external power amplifier. The center duties can still be applied to the NR1510's internal amplifier with external amplification connected to the front left and right pre-outs.

• A:Answer Hello. To access all the features in the menu it is not a requirement to have a TV connected, but it does make overall operation a lot easier. If you prefer not to connect a TV, you may well be a lot happier with one of our integrated 2 channel amplifiers, such as the PM6007 or PM7000N.
