I bought this unit for the 4k 120 passthrough; it doesn't work. There is a known issue with the chip and seems everyone knew it but me. This is a very expensive receiver and it is just devastating. Frankly, I think Best Buy should consider refunding my money. It is not their fault. However, my explanation to the salesman of why I was buying it is the beef with them. I was in the Magnolia area of the store and let's just say he was not a very helpful. He did not explain anything about only one 2.1 input or the known chip issue. I have been on the phone and emailing with Marantz. They have no answers at this time, but I honestly believe they will make it right when they have a solution. I will say the unit produces a fantastic surround sound experience and I have never had anything that sounded better. I have had plenty of other high end receivers; they did not reproduce like this one. Very rich, deep, and true. I like it a lot and I really hope they get this problem solved. The longer this goes out the more I grow concerned I will be the proud owner of a very expensive boat anchor. Once the situation is resolved I will modify my review. I really do my research and just didn't come across anything about the chip issue until I specifically entered a chip issue. I was made aware of the issue when I went back to Best Buy to buy a different HDMI cable. I thought that might be the issue. This was a different store; I explained what was happening and he said he was aware of a chip issue. No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This issue does not affect playback for most 4K/120 and 8K devices. For the few devices that don't pass 4K/120 and 8K through the AVRs, we will address this issue with a permanent fix later this year.
