• Absolutely they are, the earpieces slide up and down on a wire frame to adjust the size.

• There is about an inch and a half of extension on both sides. So I'd imagine that's more than enough for his large head.

• Yes, these are adjustable. I purchased about a month ago. Though if he has a big head, you may want to look into another Marshall style with oval ear cushions. This style has small square ones, I have a small head and they bother me after a long wear. Hope this helps!
