Hello Lib! We can not recommend this Over-the-Range Microwave be used as a countertop unit since it is not designed for countertop use. Some cabinet and building materials are not designed to withstand the heat produced by the microwave oven for cooking. We can only recommend this Microwave be mounted over a Range following the installation recommendations. Thank you for your inquiry.
