“Will this microwave open 90 degrees when installed against a wall. My brand new Maytag (MMV1174FZ) only opens 2 inches before hinge side hits the wall. No mention of door clearance in specs or by salesperson. Old micro was fine. Didn't think to ask.”

I had the Maytag ( MMV114FZ ) on order but was concerned about it hitting the wall like our current microwave. I called Maytag and couldn't get an answer about the door hinge radius. Read this post and checked out this model ( MMV4206FZ) in the store and it has a zero clearance so we changed our order to this microwave. My husband installed this model today and sure enough it does NOT HIT THE WALL. It's so nice, we love it. It's also big and quiet. So grateful for the lead about this microwave. Maytag should list this zero radius in their specs. as there are many others like us who need this information.

CAT- This model does require 6 inches of total clearance from the sidewall to allow the door to open.
