does this model have a garbage disposal null

Hi birdie, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, this model does have a maintenance free hard food disposer. We hope this helps!

It has a food chopper blade. I doubt it's designed as a garbage disposal however.

It has a chopper like a blender that pulverizes the food into small particles so they can be flushed out through the drain. That way the food doesn't get recycled with the water back into the dishwasher. It make a whirling sound for two seconds a couple of times and that is the only time you can hear anything. There is also a large grate in the bottom to capture large food particles.
