The trick to shorten the cycle : (for a total time 35-40 mins) i use light to regular soil setting - use normal cycle and do NOT USE the TURBO WASH unless needed for very heavy soiled cloths like soccer uniforms. Do NOT use auto sensing for water. Use Deep water instead. The weighing and sensing takes alot of time. Plus I like extra water to clean unless you live in a drought dry area ( I experienced Harvey/ Ike / Rita and thunderstorms that dench Houston) plus - use 1 rinse with OR WITHOUT softener ( this is just a timing to add setting) If you read the manual - downloadable on internet using your model number- high water rinses the scum out of the drum better which means less damp water pockets that cause ofors in other models - especially front loaders. Recap: light soil or medium- Normal - Deep Water setting - 1 rinse and things move along nicely!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My wife and I could not be more frustrated with this machine. When you put in the initial load of laundry in, it indicates 1 hour and 20 minutes and 3 hours later you’re still waiting for it to finish. If you have any reasonable amount of laundry to do do, not buy this machine as you will spend your entire day doing that laundry. Unbelievably disappointed and would not go near this washing machine again. Going to a different brand the second there’s another problem with this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I agree takes too long to do laundry even on the normal setting . Bought this washer 3 years ago and have had 2 expensive repairs that probably should have been recalls. Do Not Buy this junk machine. I feel totally ripped off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i concur. i checked it out and putting the setting on light soil and no water sensing....and it cut the entire time down to 50 minutes from 1.5 hours. now if there was something that would quiet this beast down! it is a very loud machine. I'll never buy another one.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Joe, thanks for the inquiry. The washer has sensor technology. The average cycle time will be from 45 minutes to 2 hours. If it is longer than we recommend contacting Maytag Customer Service for further assistance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We are having the same issue with the LG washer we bought this year. We only have this issue on the deep wash cycle. The timer will show 18 minutes and 18 minutes later it is showing 21 minutes and on and on until 4 hours after starting the load it is finally done!
