• The 10 year warranty from Maytag only covers one part which they just ship to you, but if you get Geek Squad protection they will fix anything that breaks and they come out to work on it.

• Don't know what kind of extended warranty you are talking about but the 10 year on the Maytag only covers the drive motor and the wash basket. Labor is not included in this warranty.

• Definitely buy the Geek Squad protection plan . . . 5 years if possible. You definitely will have problems with the control panel before the machine reaches the end of its life cycle. Mine lasted 2.5 years!
