Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There is a cycle is called “clean washer with affresh.” Affresh is a tablet you put in the washer during the “clean washer” cycle. You can buy the tablets at many different stores. They are about $5 each, which I think is expensive. By the way, Maytag owns Affresh. Maytag recommends you use the “clean washer” cycle once/month. The Best Buy sales person said to use it once/month if you use liquid or powder detergent because people tend to add too much detergent which clogs things up. He said if you use pods then you don’t have to do the “clean washer” cycle very often. This cycle is to clean the machine, not clothes. You don’t put clothes in the washer for this cycle. There is a Power Wash cycle for clothes. My dryer has a sanitize cycle that’s supposed to kill germs, dust mites, etc. that might be on your clothes. You do put your clothes in the dryer during this cycle. Good luck.
