A:AnswerI bought my first compact front load washer when I was 30 years old. I'm on my 3rd one now, and I'm 80 years old. Mine have all gone over 10 years without a service call putting out 3 to 4 loads per week. All have given me 15 to 17 years of service with only one service call after 10 years. I'm now considering my fourth Maytag washer and dryer pair.
A:AnswerCuriousfromGR, wrinkling is caused by the combination of heat and pressure. If permanent press fabrics are rinsed in warm water, the spin portion of the cycle applies pressure to the warm fabrics and causes wrinkling. If the same permanent press fabrics are rinsed in cold water, one element of the heat/pressure combination is removed and wrinkling is less. Remove the clothing from the dryer as soon as possible to stop wrinkles from setting in. Fabrics made from natural fibers such as cotton or linen have greater tendency to wrinkle during normal wear and laundering, and ironing is usually needed for these fabrics. Use a Permanent Press cycle, especially if washing in hot water as Permanent Press cycles are designed to minimize wrinkles. Load washer loosely with dry, unfolded clothes up to the top row of holes in a top loading washer. For a front load washer, do not pack the tub tightly. The tub can, however, be packed completely full. Too many items will prevent free circulation in the washer and will cause wrinkling. Avoid laundering heavy permanent press items such as work clothes and heavy pants or jackets with lighter permanent press items such as shirts or blouses, as the weight of the heavier items can press wrinkles into the other items in the load. Use a fabric softener to make fabrics smooth. Avoid using the fastest spin to avoid setting in wrinkles. The extended length of time at high spin speed may cause wrinkles to form. Always use the Permanent Press cycle. This cycle provides a longer cool-down period to cool the fabrics before they stop tumbling. Use the proper temperature and dryness setting and avoid over drying as excess heat can result in wrinkled fabrics. Dry only a single washer load as this will overload the dryer and result in uneven drying and wrinkling. If only one or two items are being dried, add a few similar items to ensure proper tumbling. If an item has heat-set wrinkles from laundering, it will need to be ironed to restore a smooth surface. If all the recommendations are followed and wrinkling still occurs, it is possible the permanent press or wrinkle release finish on the fabric has deteriorated due to normal wear and ironing will be necessary.
A:AnswerHello, This washer has a 4.5 capacity, so your 7.4 capacity dryer should work... You want a dryer with a larger capacity so the clothes have more room to spread out and the hot air can get to them.
A:AnswerYes. The Maytag MHW5500F Installation Manual shows a washer/dryer stacked. See the Best Buy web site for the Whirlpool (makes Maytag) installation kit to accomplish this:
Whirlpool - Stack Kit for HYBRIDCARE™ & Long Vent / Standard Dryer Model: W10869845. SKU 5836270
They also probably have it in their stores.
A:AnswerI did not find this washer to be noisy. When it's revving up at maximum spin speed it can get a little louder, but not bad and only for a short time.
A:AnswerHello, there are two types of pedestals available, we would recommend using the 10 inch one so that you have room to spare. You can find it by following this link,https://bit.ly/2PM7XaA Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Maytag appliances!
