• The problem then is that I’ve stained bulky items because I can’t sufficiently dilute the soap. I too am wondering what would be the harm in using the alternate dispenser.

• You add the detergent and softener to the drum before you add the items to be washed. Had to retrain my brain! Its like the old style washers. I like it better because the dispensers needed periodic cleaning. I think I figured out by readiing the instruction manual.
